Since June 2021, the season of “Musica con le Ali” has resumed in the wonderful Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice. Monday, October 11 will feature cellist Giovanni Sollima and pianist Carlotta Maestrini, both supported by the association. “Musica con le Ali” is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes initiatives in the field of music with particular regard to young people and classical music.

Giovanni Sollima is an internationally renowned cellist and the most performed Italian composer in the world. A true virtuoso of the cello with an inexhaustible expressive ability.

Carlotta Maestrini is the winner of numerous prizes in various competitions and debuted at just ten years old with the Lecce Orchestra conducted by Francesco Libetta. She has already played numerous concerts in the most prestigious concert venues in Sicily such as the Teatro Bellini in Catania and the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.

The duo’s program in La Fenice Opera House includes:

  • Ludwig van Beethoven, Sonata in G minor No. 2 Op. 5
  • Giovanni Sollima, Il Bell’Antonio (Theme III)
  • Felix Mendelssohn, Sonata in B Flat Major No.1 Op. 45
