Vesper project

The IUAV University of Venice and the Venice Civic Museums Foundation present a cycle of events open to the public (conferences, seminars, debates, workshops, exhibitions), aimed at promoting thematic dialogues between the arts and modern and contemporary architecture.

As part of the “Salotto Longhena” project, in homage to the famous Venetian architect, the first four issues of the magazine “Vesper. Journal of Architecture, Arts & Theory” are exhibited. The inauguration of the exhibition is on Friday, November 5 at 3 pm and will last until December 12, 2021.

Edited by the director Sara Marini, “Vesper” is a six-monthly scientific journal that deals with the relationships between forms and processes of design and thought. Gazing into the dusk, when light slowly merges with darkness and the illuminating object is no longer visible, Vesper aims to interpret the act of designing through tracing and revealing the movement of transformation. Through videos, drafts, and image enlargements, the exhibition gives the direction, construction process and outcome of the editorial project.

The first issue of Vesper is dedicated to “Supervenice“, the second issue deals with “Author-Matter“, the third issue goes into “Wildness“, while the fourth issue travels between “Exiles and Exodus“. The main goal of these sections is not to provide immediate news, but to offer an in-depth investigation of different instances of design and to provide tools and materials that will have a lasting effect.
