Like every year, January 21 is the National Hugging Day, and due to the Coronavirus pandemic that prevents us from hugging the people we love, in recent years the anniversary has acquired a different meaning and felt around the world. Friday, January 21 at La Fenice Opera House, Mario Brunello conducts Mozart and Tavener in an extraordinary concert for the National Hugging Day.
After studying at the Conservatory of Venice, the cellist from Castelfranco Veneto has performed in the major concert halls of the world, conducted by names of great prestige. In addition to being very active in chamber ensembles and collaborating with famous soloists, he has a vast repertoire, ranging from Baroque music and Bach to contemporary music and forays into jazz.
The program includes:
- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 40 in G minor kv 550
- John Tavener, The Protecting Veil, for cello and string orchestra
