The 59th International Art Exhibition takes place from April 23 to November 27, 2022 at the Giardini, Arsenale and various venues in Venice, and is entitled “The Milk of Dreams“.
As announced by the president of the Venice Biennale Roberto Cicutto and curator Cecilia Alemani, the exhibition takes its name from a book by British surrealist artist Leonora Carrington.
The exhibition focuses in particular on three thematic areas: the representation of bodies and their metamorphoses, the relationship between individuals and technologies, and the connection between bodies and the Earth.
As usual, the Biennale Arte 2022 will also feature the national participations, and each country presents its own exhibitions in the pavilions at the Giardini and at the Arsenale, as well as in the historic center of Venice. This edition will once again include a selection of collateral events, organized by international institutions, which will set up their own shows and initiatives in Venice.
