As part of the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, Fondation Louis Vuitton welcomes a completely new installation by German artist Katharina Grosse, as part of the series of events organized in the context of Fondation Louis Vuitton’s “Beyond the Walls” program.
At Espace Louis Vuitton in Venice, with the title “Apollo, Apollo” the Freiburg-based artist wants to immerse the viewer in a liquid color. What characterizes Grosse’s artistic language is the ability to invade spaces with color, going beyond the surfaces of the canvas and intervening in the architecture that hosts his exhibitions. A power of color that wants to know no boundaries and that brings the viewer closer to a long series of emotions.
Since 2013, Espace Louis Vuitton Venezia has been the place where contemporary art meets the heritage of the Serenissima. Contextualizing traditional and modern art, it offers a means of breaking down barriers, reconnecting contemporary art to its roots, and celebrating the vitality of classical art, with Louis Vuitton’s support for the restoration of celebrated Venetian works.
