The Marciana National Library hosts until November 27, 2022 the exhibition “Memory The Light of Time” by artist Federica Marangoni, curated by Roberta Semeraro and Viana Conti.
Active in New York since the 1970s and an Adjunct Professor for fifteen years at New York University, Federica Marangoni was invited to MOMA in 1980 with a performance and world premiere of the film “The Box of Life“.
The new and evocative exhibition brings light, video and color to the Reading Room of the Library, a dialogue between sixteenth-century architecture and intangible technological light, and traces some of the key themes of the Venetian artist “pioneer of multimedia”.
Always working with materials such as video, neon and glass, in dialogue with each other in famous video installations and sculptures, the exhibition “Memory The Light of Time” is a dialogue between Contemporary Art, light and pixels, through the memory thread of creativity, with the great Sansovinian Architecture. A new oneiric page of the artist, who faces a unique and almost secret path, with the lightness of works that do not contaminate while being a strong and engaging presence.
