Conductor Marco Gemmani performs at the Basilica of San Marco from December 20 to 22 2022 with the soloists of the Cappella Marciana.
Marco Gemmani is among the founders of the Accademia Bizantina with whom he recorded records for several record companies, collaborating first with Carlo Chiarappa and later with Ottavio Dantone. He was conductor of the Accademia Bizantina and Creator Ensemble choirs, with which he performed intensively throughout Europe.
During services throughout the year, performances by the Cappella Marciana have become a staple for those who want to hear music of rare beauty in the splendid golden setting of St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice.
A composer, conductor, musicologist, researcher, music editor, reviewer and author of numerous transcriptions of unpublished music, he has been conducting in-depth studies in the field of ancient vocal polyphony for long time.
