Friday, Jan. 13, and Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, two concerts conducted by George Petrou featuring compositions by Mantzaros, Mozart and Beethoven are staged at the Malibran Theater.
George Petrou is considered one of the most sensitive interpreters of the Baroque repertoire, going so far as to embrace even the music of the 17th and 19th centuries to contemporary music.
Born in Greece, Petrou graduated with honors in piano from the Athens Conservatory, later specializing at the Royal College and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Since June 2020 he has been Music Director of the Greek Radio National Symphony Orchestra and since the 2021-2022 season, he has been artistic director of the renowned “Internationale Händel-Festspiele Göttingen“.

- Nikolaos Mantzaros, Ulysses at Elysium, overture
- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 36 in C major K 425, “Linz”
- Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92
