From Jan. 19 to 22, 2023, Florian Zeller‘s great piece of contemporary theater “Il figlio” (The Son), directed by Brescia-based director Piero Maccarinelli, will be staged at the Goldoni Theater.
The plot is initially simple: Nicola attends the last class of high school and lives at his mother Anna’s house. His father Piero has just had another child with his new partner Sofia. Anna informs the father that Nicola has not attended high school for three months and according to her he has teenage depression. Piero talks about it with Nicola, who expresses a desire to move in with him and Sofia. Piero at that point decides to change Nicola’s school and works as hard as he can to give Nicola a taste for life again. The big twist in the ending that excites the audience is to be seen and cannot be revealed.
