On Friday, August 29, 2025, Venice will come alive with the community celebration Disnar per la Storica—a joyful prelude to the iconic Regata Storica. Held across the historic city, the islands, and the mainland, the event transforms public spaces into long, shared tables where Venetians and visitors dine together in the spirit of conviviality and tradition.
Self-organized by local associations and rowing clubs, the Disnar invites everyone to bring food and drink to share in preparation for watching the Regata Storica nine days later from boats along the Grand Canal. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive, with tables open to all, animated by Venetian hosts and the unmistakable spirit of the lagoon.
Throughout the afternoon, guests can attend rowing practice sessions with seasoned champions (registration required), while the evening becomes a celebration of the Venetian rowing world. Clubs will introduce their athletes and promote their activities; competing crews will be presented; and sponsors will share what motivates their support of this cherished tradition. Archival films and photos will recount the rich history of the regattas and the current season, including qualifying events and 2025 highlights. Guests can also make plans for boat spots along the Grand Canal for Sunday, September 7.
