From January 16 to 18, 2026, Teatro Goldoni will present “Kind of Miles”, a unique theatrical and musical journey celebrating the visionary universe of Miles Davis. Conceived, written, composed, and performed by the legendary Paolo Fresu, the production combines storytelling and live music to explore the life, personality, and groundbreaking sound of one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century.
Under the direction of Andrea Bernard, a versatile artist known for moving seamlessly from prose to opera, the show immerses audiences in Davis’ eccentric and creative world. Fresu’s narrative intertwines with a live musical performance that reconstructs Davis’ sonic innovations, from intimate ballads to electrifying improvisations, offering a vivid portrait of the jazz icon.
Accompanying Fresu are an ensemble of outstanding musicians, including Bebo Ferra on electric guitar, Christian Meyer on drums, Dino Rubino on piano and Fender Rhodes, Federico Malaman on electric bass, Filippo Vignato on trombone, multi-effects, and synth, Marco Bardoscia on double bass, and Stefano Bagnoli on drums. Together, they create a rich and immersive soundscape, blending acoustic and electronic textures to honor Davis’ spirit of innovation.
“Kind of Miles” is more than a concert; it is a theatrical celebration of artistic genius, improvisation, and the transformative power of music. Jazz enthusiasts, music lovers, and theatre-goers alike will be captivated by this exploration of creativity, personality, and the timeless influence of Miles Davis.
