The “Casa dei Tre Oci” in collaboration with Sanlorenzo, one of the world’s leading shipyards in the production of yachts and superyachts, presents “A point of view” by John Pawson, a collection of works recounting the distinctive spatial poetry of the English designer and architect.
The desire to identify new influences in the field of creativity is the driving force that prompted Sanlorenzo to start collaborations with influential names in the world of design who, over the years, have brought on board a multiplicity of different creative approaches and languages, changing forever nautical design. A journey that today touches a new stage thanks to the collaboration with John Pawson called to interpret the interiors of a new Sanlorenzo metal superyacht, told through drawings and design sketches presented for the first time in the exhibition.
Structured in the two sections “Sanlorenzo” and “Home”, the exhibition is a real story of the designer’s distinctive spatial poetry that rests firmly on two cornerstones. The perfect calibration between space, proportion, light and materials and the search for the essential by omitting the superfluous. Only when a project can no longer be improved by subtraction, the goal is achieved.
These decisive themes, which he pursued continuously for four decades, become the leitmotif of an exhibition that explores John Pawson’s aesthetic vision through two parallel subjects: his own house and the new yacht designed for Sanlorenzo.
