VéVé Glass participated in the 9th International Underwater Photo Contest ABYSS City of Venice 2016 with two major awards. The category awarded by VéVé Glass was Underwater Photo Set.
The International Underwater Photography Contest “Abyss-City of Venice” has been confirmed as one of the most important trade events worldwide. Just the numbers themselves explain the success of this event that in the eight previous editions saw the participation of more than 500 competitors from all parts of the globe, which have submitted more than 3,000 photographs, without mentioning the more than 30,000 visitors to the exhibitions of winning works. Since 4 years the Museum of Natural History in Venice, surely the most appropriate and prestigious setting, is hosting this event which has the advantage of not being a competition for its own sake.
The latest edition has a record number of participants (103) from all over the world (USA, Singapore, Taiwan, Greece, England, Spain, France, Belgium, Malta, Switzerland and Italy), which submitted 350 underwater images taken in the seas around the world, evaluated by a jury of underwater photography experts.
Extraordinary exposed pictures for the spectacle and for the extreme biological value. Rich prizes for the participants who have won the first three places in the nine categories and seven honorable mentions.
The VéVé Glass manager Paolo Birello presented the awards to the winner and third prize of Underwater Photo Set Category.
