In collaboration with the association Musikàmera, La Fenice Opera House will host two exceptional concerts by Alena Baeva and Vadym Kholodenko, scheduled for May 21 and 23, 2025, in the intimate setting of the Sale Apollinee.
Violinist Alena Baeva and pianist Vadym Kholodenko present a refined and evocative program that spans the classical and romantic repertoire. The concert opens with Andante and Variations by Ludwig van Beethoven (arranged by Steven Isserlis), followed by Beethoven’s vibrant Sonata No. 8 in G major, Op. 30 No. 3. The journey continues with Robert Schumann’s enchanting Märchenbilder, Op. 113, a cycle of four character pieces full of poetic imagination, and concludes with the passionate and lyrical Sonata in E-flat major, Op. 18 by Richard Strauss.
Alena Baeva, one of the most exciting violinists of her generation, is internationally recognized for her brilliant technique and deep musical sensitivity. A laureate of prestigious competitions such as the Henryk Wieniawski Competition and the Moscow International Violin Competition, she has performed with major orchestras and conductors around the world.
Vadym Kholodenko, gold medalist of the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, is celebrated for his compelling interpretations, technical mastery, and intense musical expression. His career includes acclaimed solo performances, recordings, and collaborations with leading orchestras and chamber musicians.
