On November 15, 2025, the Teatro Goldoni will host a special concert event: Il Cantico by Angelo Branduardi, organized by Veneto Jazz in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto as part of the Dal Vivo – La grande musica al Teatro Goldoni series.

Inspired by the radiant figure of Saint Francis of Assisi, Il Cantico is Branduardi’s heartfelt homage to the “Poverello di Assisi”, a man who chose joy as the essence of life. As Branduardi explains: “The life of Saint Francis is that of a man who becomes a Saint… a Saint who loves poverty ‘never separated from joy.’ He was not only a saint, but a poet who often sang alone. I have tried to give voice to his words so they may be sung again”.

The concert revives the timeless beauty of Franciscan writings while highlighting themes that resonate with striking modernity: poverty, ecology, love of life, and hospitality. Through Branduardi’s unmistakable voice and artistry, the audience will be invited to rediscover the simplicity and universality of Saint Francis’ message—one that transcends centuries and speaks powerfully to our own time.

On stage with Maestro Branduardi will be Fabio Valdemarin (keyboards), Nicola Oliva (guitar), Stefano Olivato (bass), and Davide Ragazzoni (drums). Together, they will bring to life a musical experience that is both spiritual and contemporary, intimate yet universal.

Il Cantico is more than a concert: it is an evening of music, poetry, and reflection—an encounter between art and faith, beauty and simplicity.
