Anne-Sophie Mutter, Lionel Martin, and Lauma Skride

On Monday, May 19, 2025, the prestigious La Fenice Opera House, in collaboration with the association Musikamera, welcomes an extraordinary evening of chamber music featuring violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, cellist Lionel Martin, and pianist Lauma Skride.

The programme for the evening highlights two masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Trio in B-flat major, Op. 97, known as the Archduke Trio, and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s emotionally charged Trio in A minor, Op. 50. These two monumental works offer a profound journey through the lyricism, energy, and depth of the piano trio form.

Anne-Sophie Mutter, one of the most celebrated violinists of our time, began her international career at the Lucerne Festival in 1976 and has since performed in the world’s major concert halls. A multiple award-winner, including Germany’s highest honors and the Austrian Cross of Honour, Mutter is also renowned for her humanitarian efforts and dedication to nurturing young talent.

Joining her are Lionel Martin, a rising star of the international cello scene known for his rich tone and expressive musicality, and Lauma Skride, a Latvian pianist acclaimed for her sensitive touch and collaborative artistry. Skride is recognized for her distinguished solo career as well as her performances with renowned chamber ensembles.

The concert of Anne-Sophie Mutter, Lionel Martin, and Lauma Skride promises to be an unforgettable evening, uniting three exceptional musicians in a celebration of passion, virtuosity, and the timeless power of chamber music.
