On September 24, 2025, the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice will host an extraordinary event as part of the 7th edition of the Festival of Ideas: the debut of Immaginnastica. Esercizi per allenare l’immaginazione civile (Immaginnastica: Exercises to Train the Civil Imagination), a new monologue by Arianna Porcelli Safonov written especially for the Festival.
Far from being a simple performance, Immaginnastica is conceived as a narrative gym for the mind and spirit, a series of stories that shed light on the “forbidden desires of good citizens.” Through imagination, Safonov suggests, we might find ways to avoid the invisible “house arrest” imposed by fear, conformity, or resignation.
Known for her unique blend of wit, irony, and sharp social insight, Arianna Porcelli Safonov has established herself as one of Italy’s most original contemporary voices. A writer, satirist, and storyteller, she possesses the rare gift of using laughter not as an escape, but as a tool for reflection, turning even the most complex and uncomfortable topics into opportunities for dialogue.
In Immaginnastica, she invites her audience to train their imagination as a form of civic responsibility, exploring the human soul in our turbulent times with disarming simplicity and elegance.
An unmissable evening of satire, thought, and imagination at La Fenice, where humor becomes a powerful act of freedom.
