On Friday, September 5th, 2025, the Teatro La Fenice will host an extraordinary concert under the baton of Daniele Rustioni, featuring the Orchestra of La Fenice and internationally acclaimed soprano Rosa Feola. The program centers on one of Gustav Mahler’s most luminous masterpieces, the Symphony No. 4 in G major, a work that blends orchestral brilliance with the pure, ethereal voice of the soprano, culminating in the serene vision of a child’s view of heaven.
The evening will open with a special pre-concert talk: in the Sale Apollinee, musicologist Roberto Mori will guide the audience through Mahler’s symphony, offering insights into its historical context, themes, and musical architecture. This meeting, free and open to all, promises to enrich the listening experience with a deeper understanding of Mahler’s poetic sound world.
Daniele Rustioni, one of the most dynamic conductors of his generation, is currently Principal Conductor of the Opéra National de Lyon and Principal Guest Conductor of the Munich Opera. Known for his versatility and energy, he has led leading orchestras and opera houses across Europe and the United States, gaining international recognition for his refined musicianship and bold interpretations.
Alongside him, Rosa Feola, one of Italy’s brightest sopranos, will bring her luminous tone and expressive phrasing to Mahler’s score. A winner of the Operalia competition, Feola has graced the stages of La Scala, Covent Garden, and the Metropolitan Opera, captivating audiences with her artistry and vocal elegance.
An evening of Mahlerian magic awaits at La Fenice.
