Easter in Venice
a beautiful, fascinating and original holiday
Easter in Venice

If you are looking for interesting and useful information to plan your Easter holiday in Venice, here are some innovative ideas. There are those who prefer to spend the weekend exploring the works of art, ranging from the Peggy Guggenheim Museum to the Gallerie dell’Accademia. Others instead opt for a classic tour of St. Mark’s Square, visiting St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace.

An alternative way to spend Easter in Venice is to discover the most hidden corners and lesser-known stores. Venice with its magical canals, gondolas and colorful houses, remains an ideal weekend to do at least once in a lifetime. Why not take advantage of the mild spring weather and Easter holidays in Venice to visit the city?

If you think that Venice does not lend itself to making the classic barbecue with friends or a nice picnic on the lawns, you are sadly mistaken! This city, with its countless facets, always knows how to satisfy any taste. The various islands scattered in the lagoon are a unique natural setting, where you can enjoy a day of fun and nature.

You can choose to discover the island of Lido with an itinerary on two wheels. Rent a bike or a tandem and ride to the Adriatic coast. Lie down on the white sandy beaches and enjoy the first sun. If you love wild nature, go down the island to Alberoni, to admire the WWF oasis.

If you don’t want to give up a nice meal and the usual barbecue in the countryside has bored you, choose the “bacaro pocket”, a box of Venetian specialties available in Venetian taverns, and reach the green island of Sant’Erasmo, for a picnic in the meadows.

If on Easter day you have not allowed yourself an “ad hoc” lunch and want to relax, you can always take a cruise among the islands of San Francesco del Deserto, Burano, Sant’Erasmo and San Giorgio. In addition to discovering the less traveled islands of the lagoon, your day will be delighted by a tasty fish lunch.

In short, for the days of Easter and Easter Monday, the alternatives to choose from are really many. Do not wait, plan your Easter in Venice in advance! Easter in Venice has never been so rich in solutions!
