Organized by Starak Family Foundation and curated by Ania Muszyńska, Ewa Kuryluk’s exhibition “I, White Kangaroo” is a collateral event of the Biennale Arte 2022 at Palazzo Querini.
A versatile and interdisciplinary artist whose work can universally intrigue and impress, Ewa Kuryluk is the leading representative of Polish hyperrealist painting and a pioneer of site-specific installations. She is an award-winning writer and poet, as well as a well-known art historian. In her art, she refers to the ancient idea of “outlining the shadow“.
The exhibition is a meeting with a humanist and intellectual, and Ewa Kuryluk’s works are a thoughtful and sensitive extension of the main theme of the exhibition, entitled ‘Milk of Dreams’. Through a deeply personal gaze, Kuryluk explores the potential of representational art to convey experiences of eroticism, mourning, memory, intimacy and belonging.
