On October 22, 2025, the Auditorium Lo Squero, on San Giorgio Island, welcomes two acclaimed voices of contemporary jazz: Francesco Bearzatti and Federico Casagrande, presenting their new project “And Then Winter Came Again”.
This performance marks the continuation of a decade-long artistic partnership that began with Lost Songs, a collection of Bearzatti’s compositions performed across Europe. If that first work was rooted in live spontaneity, their new album ventures into more introspective territory, shaped within the focused environment of the recording studio.
“And Then Winter Came Again” unfolds like a series of dreamlike vignettes: songs bathed in twilight, inhabited by eccentric characters, and resonating with landscapes both real and imagined. At its core lies a refined sense of storytelling, where each piece feels like an abstract painting rich with detail and emotion.
Bearzatti (saxophone, clarinet) brings his unmistakable warmth and lyricism on both tenor saxophone and clarinet, weaving melodies that speak directly to the heart. Casagrande (guitar, live loops), with his extraordinary command of polyphonic guitar, expands the duo’s sound world through subtle textures, live effects, and looping, giving the music a layered, cinematic dimension.
Together, they create an atmosphere that is at once intimate and expansive—an ode to calm, reflection, and the cycles of life. With its balance of clarity and mystery, this concert promises a journey into the depths of sound and imagination, where silence is as meaningful as melody.
A unique opportunity to experience two master musicians at the height of their creative dialogue.
