Ice Skating in Venice
In Campo San Polo during Christmas and Carnival
Ice Skating in Venice

Christmas is the most anticipated time of the year for adults and children and Venice makes the event even more magical! Throughout the Christmas period until the Venetian Carnival, along the streets and squares you can walk surrounded by lights, admiring the decorated windows.

As every year, the City of Venice promotes concerts, events, shows and flea markets throughout the historic center but also on the islands and on the mainland. Among the most popular performances in Venice, ice skating is ideal for everyone’s favorite winter pastime. Thousands of Venetians and tourists from all over the world enjoy ice skating every winter. After all, there’s nothing more cheerful than sliding on the ice in the middle of the city.

A part of “Campo San Polo”, a square in the heart of Venice, becomes the Venetian ice skating rink, a unique environment where you can spend some time with your family and live an incredible experience to tell your friends, starting from 7 December 2019 until 25 February 2020.

You can rent the equipment on site or use your own. The skating rink is about 600 square meters and can accommodate up to 200 skaters, children and adults. The egg-shaped rink is surrounded by a “village of stalls”, a traditional Christmas/Carnival market with locally made arts-and-crafts items, food and wine. During the evening there will be live music performances and DJ sets for the visitor’s entertainment.

Ice skating is fun, healthy, and could be the perfect way to spend a very romantic winter day……. we only hope that this year weather and high water allow it …….
