On the bicentenary of the death of Canova (1822 – 2022), the photographic exhibition “in luce” is open until March 27, 2022 in the Scarpa area of the Querini Stampalia in Venice.
The exhibition, curated by Maddalena Scimemi, features the artist Antonio Canova, the architect Carlo Scarpa and the photographer Alessandra Chemollo.
“in luce” presents about fifty shots of the reportage that in the summer of 2016 Alessandra Chemollo realized at the Gypsotheca of Possagno and intended for a publication of the architect Scarpa. The photographs on display in the exhibition account for this work, which in turn is the result of thirty years of research dedicated to the entire Scarpa catalog and flowed into several volumes and exhibitions, providing indispensable tools of knowledge for scholars.
