Founded in 1987, the Interpreti Veneziani quickly rose to international acclaim and today are recognized as one of the leading ensembles in the interpretation of Baroque music. With an annual concert season that draws more than 60,000 spectators from around the globe, the ensemble continues to enchant audiences with performances that combine technical mastery, passion, and authenticity.
The concert season unfolds in two of Venice’s most historic and evocative venues. The Church of San Vidal, a 17th-century jewel in the heart of the city, offers an intimate and refined atmosphere where music resonates with warmth and clarity. Equally compelling is the Church of the Pietà, inseparably linked to Antonio Vivaldi, who composed much of his music for the young women of its Ospedale. In this space, his works find a homecoming of unparalleled resonance.
The program includes beloved titles such as Vivaldi Baroque Ensemble, Le Quattro Stagioni (The Four Seasons), Violini a Venezia (Violins in Venice), Antonio Vivaldi e il suo tempo (Antonio Vivaldi and His Time), and the festive Concerto di Natale (Christmas Concert). Each performance not only celebrates the timeless brilliance of Baroque masters but also revives the sound of exquisite period instruments—true artistic treasures.
At San Vidal and the Pietà, the music of Vivaldi and his contemporaries merges with the sacred spaces where it first flourished, creating an experience that is both historic and immediate, ancient and new.
A concert with the Interpreti Veneziani is more than a performance—it is a journey into the soul of Venice itself.
