La clemenza di Tito at La Fenice

The Clemency of Titus
at La Fenice Opera House
La clemenza di Tito

From November 20 to 30, 2025, the stage of La Fenice Opera House will resound with the grandeur of Mozart’s final opera, La clemenza di Tito (The Clemency of Titus). This masterpiece of political drama and human compassion will be presented in a new production by Fondazione Teatro La Fenice, under the baton of renowned conductor Ivor Bolton and directed by Paul Curran.

The Orchestra and Chorus of Teatro La Fenice, prepared by Chorus Master Alfonso Caiani, will bring Mozart’s luminous score to life. With surtitles in Italian and English, this production offers audiences the chance to experience one of opera’s most profound explorations of power, betrayal, and forgiveness.

The distinguished cast includes Daniel Behle as Titus, Anastasia Bartoli as Vitellia, Francesca Aspromonte as Servilia, Cecilia Molinari as Sesto, Nicolò Balducci as Annio, and Domenico Apollonio as Publio.

At the heart of the drama is Emperor Titus, who narrowly escapes a conspiracy against his life. When the traitors are revealed, he faces the difficult choice between justice and mercy. In a gesture of unexpected nobility, he chooses forgiveness, embodying the opera’s timeless message of clemency and humanity.

Opening Night: Thursday, November 20, 2025, an evening dress (black tie) is required for the premiere performance.

Join La Fenice for this extraordinary event — a celebration of Mozart’s genius and a powerful reminder of the enduring strength of compassion.
