As part of the 2025 Symphony Season, the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice will be conducted by Martin Rajna in three unmissable performances from May 30 to June 1, featuring two beloved symphonic masterpieces: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major, Op. 60, and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88.
Beethoven’s Fourth, often overshadowed by its more dramatic neighbors, shines with clarity, lyricism, and surprising wit, while Dvořák’s Eighth is a celebration of Czech spirit and natural beauty, filled with folk-inspired melodies and radiant orchestral colors. Together, the works offer an uplifting journey through 19th-century symphonic imagination.
The concert on Friday, May 30, will be introduced by musicologist Roberto Mori in the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice, offering the audience insight into the program’s historical and musical significance.
Martin Rajna, born in 1995 in Hungary, is one of the most promising conductors of his generation. A graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, he quickly rose to prominence after winning the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award in 2020. Known for his precision, energy, and interpretative maturity, Rajna has already led major orchestras across Europe and is celebrated for his ability to bring freshness to the classical repertoire while maintaining deep respect for tradition.
