As part of the chamber music season presented in collaboration with Musikàmera, clarinetist Nicolas Baldeyrou and pianist Nicolas Stavy will perform at the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice on June 25, 2025, offering an evocative evening of Romantic and early 20th-century French music.
The program opens with Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestücke Op. 73, a lyrical and expressive work that highlights the intimate dialogue between clarinet and piano. This is followed by Johannes Brahms’ Sonata No. 2 in E-flat major Op. 120, a mature and introspective composition filled with warmth and melodic richness. The second half of the concert is devoted to French repertoire, beginning with Camille Saint-Saëns’ Sonata in E-flat major Op. 167, which elegantly blends classical form with French charm. The program continues with the delicate Canzonetta Op. 19 by Gabriel Pierné, and concludes with the vibrant and witty Sonata FP 184 by Francis Poulenc, a beloved staple of the clarinet-piano repertoire.
Nicolas Baldeyrou is one of the leading French clarinetists of his generation, a soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and a regular guest on international stages. Renowned for his refined tone and versatility, he champions both classical repertoire and contemporary works.
Nicolas Stavy, an award-winning pianist with a rich concert career across Europe and Asia, is acclaimed for his poetic sensibility and deep interpretative insight, particularly in the Romantic and French repertoire.
This concert promises a night of expressive depth and vibrant musical storytelling.
