The “Festa del Redentore” (Redeemer’s Feast) is the most heartfelt festivity of the Venetians, where religion and entertainment are combined. Thanks to the phantasmagorical firework display on Saturday night thousands of visitors are attracted: on the inimitable stage of the San Marco Basin, plays of light and reflections create kaleidoscopes of colors that stand out behind the spiers, domes and bell towers of the city.
It takes place every year on the third Sunday of July. A real city festival where popular participation even exceeds that of the Carnival and the Historical Regatta. For the Festa del Redentore Venice comes alive for a whole weekend and provides a rich and varied calendar of events.
