Saturday, July 19 marks the return of one of Venice’s most cherished traditions — La Festa del Redentore, affectionately known by locals as La Notte Famosissima.
Rooted in memory of the 1575–1577 plague that devastated the city, this historic celebration beautifully blends religious devotion with spectacular celebration. Each year, Venetians and visitors alike gather in anticipation for the fireworks display that lights up the Basin of San Marco, casting magical reflections behind the city’s bell towers and domes in a radiant kaleidoscope.
Program Highlights:
- Friday, July 18
7:00 PM – Opening of the iconic votive bridge connecting the Zattere to the Church of the Redentore on Giudecca Island. Open through Sunday at midnight. - Saturday, July 19
11:30 PM – The fireworks begin. Whether from the shore or boat, viewers are treated to one of Venice’s most unforgettable nights. - Sunday, July 20

IMPORTANT: To enjoy the fireworks, online booking is mandatory. Land viewing areas: Zattere, Riva degli Schiavoni, Giudecca, Piazzetta San Marco. Boat access is divided by vessel type.
