From Sept. 7 to 12, 2022, the Goldoni Theater presents the play “R+G” based on a project by Stefano Cordella and Tommaso Fermariello, who take care of texts and direction. R+G is an original dramaturgy, freely inspired by Shakespeare’s masterpieceRomeo and Juliet“, an inexhaustible source of ideas and themes to narrate the contradictions of the present time.

The choice is to focus on the adolescent restlessness that leads Romeo and Juliet to experience perhaps the most famous love story in literature and to die in the name of this love after only 4 days from their first meeting. The two protagonists recount the uneasy condition that happens to go through at that age. The fear of being wrong, the judgment of peers, and conflicting relationships with the family are just some of the themes that are addressed in the play.

Everything is extreme at that age, there is no middle ground: we go from moments of extreme happiness to periods of total loss of meaning. The show takes the form of a concert of words and electronic music to convey to the audience all the energy and vitality that characterizes adolescence.
