On July 5 and 6, 2025, as part of the Symphony Season, the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra will be conducted by Stanislav Kochanovsky for a dynamic program featuring the vibrant theatricality of Sergei Prokofiev and the lyrical enchantment of Pëtr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The evening opens with Prokofiev’s Chout (The Jester) op. 21, a spirited and satirical ballet score, full of wit, bold rhythms, and colorful orchestrations that showcase the Russian composer’s distinctive modernist voice. The second half of the program offers the beloved Suite from Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece, brimming with romantic elegance, graceful melodies, and dramatic grandeur.
At the podium is Stanislav Kochanovsky, one of the most compelling Russian conductors of his generation. Born in St. Petersburg in 1981, he studied at the prestigious Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory and quickly rose to prominence for his refined musical insight and expressive leadership. He has conducted some of the world’s major orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, as well as appearing in leading opera houses.
Kochanovsky is especially admired for his interpretations of the Russian repertoire, where he brings clarity, energy, and emotional depth. His artistry combines rigorous technique with a sensitive ear for color and texture, making him a sought-after conductor for both symphonic and operatic works.
This concert promises to be a powerful journey through Russian musical storytelling — from the biting humor of Prokofiev to the poetic beauty of Tchaikovsky.
