The Peggy Guggenheim Collection hosts the works of Jean Arp
which have been produces in a wide variety of materials and formats

The exhibition offers a suggestive and long-awaited reading of the artistic production of the French-German artist Jean (Hans) Arp (1886-1966), whose experimental approach to the creative process and radical rethinking of traditional art forms made him one of the artists most influential of the twentieth century.

During a career lasting more than six decades, Arp produced an influential body of work in a rich variety of materials and formats.

Arp was among the founders of the Dada movement and pioneers of abstraction, developed a vocabulary of curving, organic forms that move fluidly between abstraction and representation, and quickly became a point of reference for several generations of artists.

The exhibition is curated by Catherine Craft and organized by the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, the first venue of the exhibition.
