The Venice Glass Week
International festival dedicated to the art of glass

Scheduled for September 7-15, 2019, “The Venice Glass Week” is an international festival dedicated to celebrating, supporting and promoting the art of glass, the artistic and economic activity for which it has been included in the world for more than 1,000 years.

Nine days of events, over 180 scheduled appointments, more than 150 organizations involved. The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Venice and conceived by the Venice Civic Museums Foundation, THE GLASS ROOMS – Giorgio Cini Foundation, Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts and Promovetro Murano Consortium.

In 2017, the program of the first edition included over 150 events in over 100 locations between Venice and Murano, attracting over 75,000 visitors.

In 2018, the second edition recorded 180 events hosted in over 160 spaces not only in Venice and Murano, but also in Mestre, and visitors exceeded 91,000 presences.

A sure sign of the dynamism and vitality of the Venetian cultural scene and a strong indicator of the renewed and growing international interest in artistic glass. The third edition of “The Venice Glass Week” will start from this success, with the aim of being even more ambitious, interesting and impactful.
