On June 28 and 29, 2025, Venice will once again become the beating heart of vintage sailing as it hosts the twelfth edition of the Trofeo Principato di Monaco (Principality of Monaco Trophy), a regatta dedicated exclusively to historic boats. Organized under the patronage of Anna Licia Balzan, Honorary Consul of Monaco in Venice, and directed by Mirko Sguario of the Yacht Club Venezia, the event promises two days of breathtaking races and pageantry.
The races will take place in the waters off the Lido di Venezia at 1:00 PM on Saturday. A highlight of the weekend is the parade of boats in the San Marco Basin on Sunday at 11:00 AM—an iconic and emotional moment for spectators along the Rive.
The regatta welcomes a spectacular range of vessels: Vintage Yachts (pre-1950), Classic Yachts (1950–1975), replicas, Sciarrelli designs, Passere, and the legendary IOR prototypes. Among the participants: Naïf (1973), Aglaja (1964), Acantia (1971), and the stunning Fantàsia (1914), making her Venetian debut.
New in 2025: the Rotary Club Venezia celebrates its centenary during the event, offering a special prize and a donation to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. On June 27, five iconic Venetian hotels will present the “Esprit de la Tradition” cocktail in a tribute evening flavored with L’Orangerie’s signature bitter orange.
This elegant event fuses heritage, sport, and Venetian charm, creating an unmissable moment for lovers of the sea and beauty.
