From October 11 to November 8, 2025, the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Opera House will once again open its doors to the rhythms, colors, and voices of jazz with three unmissable concerts featuring internationally renowned artists and rising stars of the global scene.
The Venezia Jazz Festival opens on October 11 with Convergence, a vibrant project that unites Swiss drummer Florian Arbenz with pianist Michael Arbenz, double bassist Rafael Jerjen, and the extraordinary Cuban brothers Jorge and Maikel Vistel (trumpet and saxophone). Nearly 25 years after their first encounter in Havana, these musicians reunite to create a sound that blends spontaneity, groove, and virtuosity, embodying the festive and playful spirit of 21st-century jazz.
On October 18, the spotlight turns to Enrico Pieranunzi & Aldo Di Caterino Ensemble with Heroes. Pianist Enrico Pieranunzi, one of the greatest Italian jazz musicians of all time, joins forces with the lyrical flutist Aldo Di Caterino, alongside Carlo Bavetta (double bass) and Cesare Mangiocavallo (drums). Their repertoire, drawn from Pieranunzi’s acclaimed 2024 album, offers deeply melodic and expressive compositions of rare beauty.
The festival closes on November 8 with the young prodigy Hakan Başar Trio. At just 21, the Istanbul-born pianist has already been praised by legends such as Chick Corea and has performed with icons including Ron Carter and Eddie Gomez. With Michelangelo Scandroglio on double bass and Bernardo Guerra on drums, Başar interprets jazz classics with freshness, energy, and maturity beyond his years.
Venice Jazz Festival Fall Edition #8 promises a journey through jazz past, present, and future, in the intimate and evocative setting of La Fenice.
