The 16th International Festival of Contemporary Dance entitled “Boundary-less” will be held from July 22 to 31, 2022 and will be a festival with no physical and geographical borders.
Biennale Danza director Wayne McGregor “invites the public to a dance experience with border-destroying choreographers and artists, who choose to operate in these liminal spaces in unexpected and visceral, often provocative collaborations”.
For this year’s edition, the world premieres of Saburo Teshigawara (Golden Lion), Rocío Molina (Silver Lion) and Diego Tortelli will be presented, as well as many European and Italian premieres by iconic world leaders in dance.
Biennale Danza 2022 will have 5 program strands:
- Live/Installation, with Tobias Gremmler, Blanca Li, Indigo Lewin
- Biennale College, with young emerging artists
- Collaboration, with Tacita Dean – Craneway Event
- Film, with exciting new forms of animation and intimate documentaries
- Talks/Workshops, with curated conversations and discussion opportunities.
