The 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music “Out of Stage” will take place from September 14 to 25, 2022. The program of Biennale Musica 2022 directed by Lucia Ronchetti features numerous events focusing on new forms of experimental music theater. As usual, the activities of the Biennale College Musica will be part of the festival program.
New works by Simon Steen-Andersen (The Return), Helena Tulve (Visions), Michel van der Aa (The Book of Water), Paolo Buonvino (çiatu) and Annelies Van Parys (Notwehr) are staged, as well as new projects by Alexander Schubert (Sleep Laboratory), Rino Murakami and Ondřej Adámek (Reaching Out).
On the festival’s opening night at Teatro la Fenice, a new production of Jules Verne by 2022 Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement award-winning composer Giorgio Battistelli will be performed by Ars Ludi, Silver Lion 2022.
Director Lucia Ronchetti studied Composition and Electronic Music at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and graduated in History of Music at La Sapienza University in Rome. She has studied with Bussotti, Sciarrino, Grisey and Murail. Her new choral opera “Les paroles gelées” is scheduled for 2022 at the Nouvelle Philharmonie in Paris.
