New Year's Eve in Venice
Parties, fireworks and kisses
Capodanno 2020

Also this year, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, is ready to host again a unique event: New Year’s Eve in Venice! Together with the Carnival and the Feast of the Redeemer, the New Year will be remembered as one of the major events of the new year. The program for next December 31st is rich and full of attractions able to transform the New Year’s Eve in the most original night of all 12 months.

It actually contains many different meanings: from fun to mystery, a bit of magic with lots of charm and lots of romance. For years, the culmination of the festival has been marked by fireworks, arranged in boats off St. Mark’s Square, which are reflected in the waters of the lagoon and in the eyes of thousands of people who came to admire them.

Already starting from the evening of December 31st it is possible to book in one of the many restaurants that organize the dinner: some in one of the many Venetian palaces, some in one of the many restaurants open for the occasion, some by boat wandering through the canals of Venice.

To better experience the Venetian spirit and immerse yourself in the daily life of its inhabitants, we also recommend “cichetti” (tasty snacks) with “ombreta” (glass of wine) in the many Venetian bacari.

Once you put something in your stomach, we suggest you go immediately to Piazza San Marco, to be able to watch the fireworks show that will illuminate the San Marco basin. A tip: to admire the fireworks in the best possible way, move not only towards Riva degli Schiavoni, but also along the banks towards Giardini.

The absolute protagonist of the Venetian New Year 2020 will once again be Piazza San Marco and at the stroke of midnight all the couples in the square will kiss simultaneously, accompanied by Venetian music and the ever-present fireworks; a toast will follow!
