Since 2009 the Institut Ramon Llull produces and organizes the participation of Catalonia at the Collateral Events of the Venice Biennale and for this edition the choice is for a project by the Majorcan artist Lara Fluxà.
Curated by Oriol Fontdevila, the exhibition LLIM (silt) consists of an assemblage of cisterns, capsules and glass tubes, in which the water coming from the San Pietro Canal circulates continuously through the installation interacting with the past and present substrates of Venice and leaving waste, mud and silt, that is “llim“, which gives the name to the exhibition.
The Majorcan artist stated that “the project that will be present in Venice is a kind of open and transparent organism, which allows us to see inside and go through it“.
