The environmental disaster that overwhelmed the Dolomites becomes the starting point for a theater project: “Da qui alla luna” (From Here to the Moon) is staged at the Goldoni Theater on Oct. 20 and 21, 2022.
It is October 2018 when the storm “Vaia” devastates the Eastern Alps, wiping out 16 million trees that, lined up one after the other, would roughly cover the distance that separates the earth from the moon. Writer Matteo Righetto, accurately reconstructs the facts in a kind of delicate requiem for a violated and abandoned mountain.
A choral story that brings to life the horror of those days through the eyes of the inhabitants of the Belluno valleys: the bricklayer Silvestro, the young student Paolo and the very old Agata.
Director Giorgio Sangati entrusts the story of this huge natural disaster to the irony and humanity of Andrea Pennacchi, creating a multi-voice narrative that reminds us how fragile the planet we live in is. The musical part is entrusted to the original music by Giorgio Gobbo and Carlo Carcano, who also supervised the dramaturgy.
