Conceived in 2015 and relaunched in 2020, Dorsoduro Museum Mile offers an extraordinary cultural journey through eight centuries of art in the Dorsoduro district starting from the Accademia Gallery, Palazzo Cini Gallery, Peggy Guggenheim Collection up to Punta della Dogana, Collection Pinault.
Integrated itineraries, shared communications and discounts on admission ticket are some of the activities in which the four museums have cooperated in recent years, supporting and developing initiatives aimed at bringing people closer to the history of art up to recent contemporary experiments.
From the masterpieces of Venetian painting of the Middle Ages and Renaissance of the Accademia Galleries, to the protagonists of the current art scene exhibited at Punta della Dogana, passing through the historic museum-houses of Vittorio Cini and Peggy Guggenheim, which house the collections of these great patrons of the arts, the unique cultural itinerary between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal is just over a mile long.
In addition to the permanent collections, with a reduced admission ticket price visitors will be able to visit the major exhibitions scheduled for 2022: “Anish Kapoor” at the Accademia Galleries (until Oct. 9), “Joseph Beuys: Fine-limbed” at Palazzo Cini (until Oct. 2), “Surrealism and magic. Enchanted Modernity” at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (until Sept. 26) and “open end” by Marlene Dumas at Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana (until January 2023).
