From Dec. 28 to 31, 2022, Carlo Goldoni’s comedy “Gl’innamorati“, adapted by Angela Dematté and directed by Andrea Chiodi, will be staged at the Goldoni Theater.
Lombard theater director Andrea Chiodi confronts “Gl’innamorati” by offering new takes on the Goldonian classic. The love story of the quarrelsome Eugenia and Fulgenzio is much more multifaceted than it seems, behind which are hidden tensions capable of overcoming even the contradictions typical of romantic love. The protagonists are two young people much closer to our time than we think. Although belonging to the “middle class“, the two young people cannot yet aspire to economic independence and thus decide independently to form a family. Pressured by circumstances, in the grip of jealousy, anger or fear, the two young people give in to the impulse to hurt each other, contradicting the flaunted depth of their feelings, and amidst a few highs and many lows, they will learn from their misadventures that love is not enough in itself and indeed managing it is very complex.
The artistic cast of the play includes:
Alessia Spinelli (Lisetta), Gaspare Del Vecchio (Fabrizio), Elisa Grilli (Eugenia), Cristiano Parolin (Fulgenzio), Francesca Sartore (Clorinda), Leonardo Tosini (Roberto), Gianluca Bozzale (Ridolfo), Riccardo Gamba (Servo) and Ottavia Sanfilippo (Flamminia).
