For the “Galuppi Festival” on Wednesday 5 October in the Sale Apollinee of the La Fenice theater Kinga Augustin and Corrado Ruzza will perform with works by Prokofiev, Bacewicz, Ysaÿe, Saint-Saëns, Wieniawski.

Violinist Kinga Augustin was educated at the prestigious Julliard School in New York, the city where she now resides. Her ever-expanding discography on major labels such as Naxos includes Paganini’s Capricci which music critics consider “as convincing as Perlman’s or Midori’s recordings” and an “enduring landmark” (Classical Net). She defined “elegant and vibrant” (The Strad Magazine) and “beyond the incredible, a violinist from hell!” (The Fanfare Magazine), Kinga Augustyn is often praised for her performances.

Professor of Chamber Music at the Bonporti Conservatory in Riva del Garda, the pianist Corrado Ruzza deals with chamber repertoires to which he dedicates his artistic and didactic activity. Over time, his collaborations with important soloists have led him to give concerts in Europe and the United States. With the violinist Domenico Nordio he recorded a CD for Il Canale UNICEF with the major compositions of Schubert for this duo.

The program of the duo Kinga Augustin and Corrado Ruzza includes:

  • Sergey Prokofiev, 5 Mélodies, Op.35
  • Grazyna Bacewicz, Sonata No 1
  • Eugène Ysaÿe, Sonata No 3
  • Camille Saint-Saëns, Havanaise, Op.83
  • Henryk Wieniawski, Fantaisie brillante sur des motifs de l’Opéra Faust de Gounod Op. 20
