Curated by Victoria Noel-Johnson, the exhibition “Lee Miller – Man Ray. Fashion, love, war” is produced and organized by CMS.Cultura in collaboration with ACP- Art Capital Partners Palazzo Franchetti and features some 140 photographs by Lee Miller and Man Ray, a number of art objects and video documents, thanks to the support of the Lee Miller Archives and the Marconi Foundation.
Until April 10, 2023, in the prestigious and exclusive venue of Palazzo Franchetti, visitors can finally fully appreciate the qualities of this great photographer, and her contribution to photography, not only as Man Ray’s muse, but above all as a professional in her own right. Indeed, many forget that she was the one who discovered the solarization technique and inspired Man Ray to use it as his artistic signature, for which he became famous.
The aim of the exhibition is thus to pay suitable homage to Lee Miller, pioneer of surrealism in photography, placing her on a par with Man Ray, whose work tended to overshadow her both during her lifetime and after.
