Milton Nascimento

The journey among international jazz stars continues, and on July 10 Brazilian musician Milton Nascimento stars at Teatro La Fenice with his goodbye to stages tour. As Elis Regina once said: “If God were to sing, it would be with the voice of Milton Nascimento“, he is a legend of Brazilian music, a singer-songwriter celebrated worldwide for the expressive power with which he has renewed his country’s rich repertoire. He has just blown out eighty candles and boasts an extraordinary career that began in the mid-1960s and led him to hybridize Brazilian music with the Beatles and jazz. During his lifetime of performance, he has met the jazz and pop elite: Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Quincy Jones.

The stage farewell party concert brings together a close-knit group of musicians: Ronaldo Silva percussion, Jose Ibarra voice, Kiko Continentino piano, Widor Santiago saxophones, Wilson Lopes guitar, Alexandre Lopes bass, Lincoln Cheib drums.

Venezia Jazz Festival is organized by Veneto Jazz with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Veneto Region, under the patronage of the City of Venice and in collaboration Teatro La Fenice.
