The famous orchestra “I Musici Veneziani” will hold concerts for violin and strings in 2019 representing the scenes of nature, inspired by the famous work of Antonio Vivaldi “The Four Seasons”. It is composed of great virtuosos of the Venice Conservatory, accompanied by famous opera singers and internationally renowned soloists. The Venetian Musicians perform all the shows wearing beautiful 18th century Venetian dresses.
The Great School of San Teodoro, dedicated to the first patron saint of Venice, was built starting from 1580 on the initiative of the confraternity composed of merchants and artisans who at that time was a guest at the Church of San Salvador.
The initial project of Simone Sorella was then extended to Francesco and Tommaso Contin. The Salone Capitolare (Main Hall) was designed and built by Baldassarre Longhena and adorned with paintings dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries by Vassilacchi, Jacopo Palma il Giovane, Balestra, Bassano.
Started with social, charitable and educational purposes, the school then became a flour store, a public dormitory, the seat of the political archive, a commercial museum and a cinema. In 1999 the orchestra of “I Musici Veneziani” began to hold its Concert Seasons in the school that became the most prestigious Concert Hall in Venice.
