The Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo – Center for the Study of the History of Textiles, Costume and Perfume is currently hosting the exhibition “Tramalogie” (Tramalogies) until August 20, 2023. Curated by Chiara Squarcina, this exhibition is dedicated to the Anna Moro-Lin Donation, a collection of 20 works donated to the City of Venice by Anna Moro-Lin in June 2020. The exhibition offers an opportunity to discover an important chapter of Fiber Art and to explore its evolution through the characteristic figures of this artist from Lido.
Anna Moro-Lin’s creative genius reflects the absolute value that textiles hold, thanks to Fiber Art. With her works, she clears textiles of their functional connotation and transforms them into a ductile material for original artistic expressions. The donated works allow for cross-readings with respect to the other Fiber Art collections kept at Palazzo Mocenigo, highlighting the evolution of this artistic current, which was born and developed in the lagoon area before contaminating national and international realities.
The exhibition not only focuses on Anna Moro-Lin’s creative figure but also her evolution, which represents the overcoming of the limits that circumscribed the expressiveness linked to Fiber Art. Today, these works are a decisive piece for the understanding of the general mapping of languages that intersect and interact with reality, reflecting the visionary and possibilistic nature of the artist.
With Anna Moro-Lin, tradition is not denied but rather assimilated and overcome in order to translate reflections and psychological introspections anchored in contemporary feeling. Through her works, she reconstructs a credible and truthful identity that intertwines with the material fiber. This exhibition is a must-see for anyone interested in Fiber Art and the evolution of artistic expression.
