Thanks to the 14th edition of Venezia Jazz Festival scheduled from June 23 to July 28, great jazz returns to the lagoon city. Sale Apollinee, Auditorium Lo Squero and Combo, as well as Splendid Venice Hotel and Laguna Libre will perform the ever-evolving new jazz acts. The festival program:
- June 23, Sale Apollinee, 7:30 p.m., Vince Abbracciante, rising star of accordion in Italy.
- June 24, Combo, 6.30 pm, the American musician Cobi, with his famous single “Don’t you cry for me”.
- June 25, “Lo Squero” Auditorium of the Giorgio Cini Foundation on San Giorgio Maggiore Island, 7:30 p.m., “Effetto notte” by the Pasquale Mirra-Enzo Favata-Mirko Cisilino trio.
- June 28, Sale Apollinee, 7:30 p.m., Rita Payés, a young Catalan musician and singer, and Francesco Pollon, solo piano, a Tomorrow’s Jazz Prize finalist.
- June 30, Sale Apollinee, 7:30 p.m., Luxembourg trio Dock in Absolute, featuring Jean-Philippe Koch on piano, David Kintziger on bass and Michel Mootz on percussion.
- July 2, Auditorium “Lo Squero,” 7:30 p.m., the hypnotic atmospheres of “Atlante,” the new musical project of Turin double bassist Federico Marchesano, with special guest Frenchman Louis Sclavis on clarinet and bass clarinet, accompanied by Enrico Degani on classical guitar and Mattia Barbieri on drums.
- July 7, Splendid Venice Hotel, appointment with Mediterranean jazz, between aperitifs and petit food.
- July 9, Combo, 7:30 p.m., Rachele Andreoli, between ancestral rituals and loop station.
- July 10, La Fenice Opera House, 8 p.m., farewell tour by Milton Nascimento with a close-knit group of musicians.
- July 13, La Fenice Opera House, 8 p.m., a double concert with Richard Galliano (first part) and Hermeto Pascoal and grupo & Friends, with guests Gabriele Mirabassi and other artists (second part).
- July 24, Laguna Libre, singer Nicoletta Taricani in quartet, a Tomorrow’s Jazz Award finalist.
- July 28, Laguna Libre, flutist Aldo Di Caterino in trio, concert in collaboration with Puglia Sounds.
