The Venice Marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in Italy for marathon lovers from all over the world. The 2022 edition of the Venice Marathon will be staged on October 23.
This 42,195-kilometer-long sporting event will take place on a unique course, making it one of the most beautiful and popular courses in the world. Venice Marathon is much more than a race, much more than a celebration of sport. The marathon starts from Villa Pisani in Stra, running along the Riviera del Brenta and then through the center of Marghera and Mestre. It then runs for more than 2 km inside San Giuliano Park and reaches Venice via the 4-km-long Ponte della Libertà. The race then enters the most special and unforgettable part of the marathon: the Zattere with the Giudecca Canal, the Punta della Dogana, the floating bridge, St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, and the Riva degli Schiavoni. Finish line is at Riva dei Sette Martiri overlooking St. Mark’s Basin.
