Vinicio Capossela is an Italian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and writer. He is one of the artists with the most awards from the Club Tenco. The concert is an opportunity to present the songs on the new album “Ballate per uomini e bestie”. Capossela defines this album: “A canticle for all creatures, for multiplicity, for the break between species and between man and nature”. The album won the Targa Tenco 2019as the best album ever.
A work of great expressive power that looks at the plagues of our present swept away by the corruption of language, neoliberalism, violence and the plunder of nature. In an age in which the Western world seems to be facing a new Middle Ages understood as a distrust of culture and knowledge and loss of the sense of the sacred, Capossela chooses to publish a songbook that shows the similarities and the sense of actuality that deeply connect it to the chronicles of today, evoking a fantastic Middle Ages made of extinct beasts, magical creatures, wandering knights, fairies and saints. The story and the song become a tool to attempt a rapprochement with the sacred and the beasts, an indispensable point of access to the mystery of nature, even human. The form chosen by Capossela for this new artistic venture is the ballad.
Among the fourteen songs on the album there are also songs inspired by great literature, from medieval texts to the works of beloved poets like Oscar Wilde and John Keats.
In addition to the songs from the new album, there are also some classics from the repertoire of Capossela tied to the theme of the concert.
